Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori and Dominic Thiem are in action at Gerry Weber Open
Roger Federer starts his bid for a fourth straight title at the Gerry Weber Open today, live on Sky Sports.
The Swiss star has dominated the grass court tournament in recent years and begins his pursuit of more silverware with a first round match against Jan-Lennard Struff in Halle.
Federer returned from a back injury at last week's Mercedes Cup, losing to Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals, and is facing a challenging field of competitors, including the exciting Austrian and second seed Kei Nishikori.
Thiem added a fourth title in Stuttgart and will be expected to continue his fine form in an opening match against Joao Sousa from Portugal.
Among the second round matches, Nishikori will face Florian Mayer, while Andreas Seppi takes on Yuichi Sugita following his impressive first round win over David Ferrer.
Elsewhere in the draw, Alexander Zverev shares the court with Benjamin Becker in an all-German contest, while Dustin Brown's battle with Marcos Baghdatis should provide some entertainment.
